HISTORY
Expansion efforts CSU - San Marcos began in the spring of 2018 led by Coordinator of Expansion and Growth Sam Franzoia, Chico State ‘12.

On March 29, 2018, 38 undergraduate men were initiated into the Iota Mu interest group. On April 22, 2018, the interest group participated in the Provisional Chapter Installation Ceremony. Rex Andrade, CSU - San Marcos ‘18, was the Installing President. Logan Ishimine, Arizona ‘14, represented Fraternity Staff. 

The Iota Mu Provisional Chapter officially became the Iota Mu Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Sixty-two men were included on the official charter presented by Tom Brown, Indiana ‘75. LT Piver, Chico State ‘11, was the staff representative and Megan Curran was the University representative at the chartering ceremony. Other speakers included Chapter President Olaf Zielinski, CSU San Marcos ‘18, VP of Rituals & Traditions Alex Villa, CSU San Marcos ‘18, and Grand Chapter Advisor Jim McMahon, Illinois Tech ‘78.
