HISTORY
Assistant Director of Undergraduate Engagement Cory Ryan, Wake Forest ’10 led expansion efforts at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in the spring semester of 2015. 32 men participated in a Pledge Ceremony in February of 2015. Coordinator of Educational Programs Ryan Kolter, Whitewater ’12 worked closely with the colony throughout the spring 2015 semester to train colony leadership and provide support. Staff members Cory Ryan and Ryan Kolter initiated 32 men and colonized the group in March of 2015. The founding president was David Gazali, UNC-Pembroke ’15.

The group officially became the Eta Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi on December 5, 2015. The Ceremony was held at the Holiday Inn Express in Pembroke, North Carolina. Grand Councilor Mike Waters, Oregon State ‘73, gave the Keynote Address and presented the group with their charter. Jay Grothause, Bowling Green ‘10, represented Fraternity Staff. David Gazali, UNC - Pembroke ‘15, was the founding president.
