HISTORY
Jeremy Horne, Ohio Wesleyan, ‘08 launched the initial expansion effort at Cameron University in August, 2011. Alpha Sigma Phi was the second NIC fraternity on-campus which threatened the other fraternity, Sigma Tau Gamma, causing some tensions between the two groups. Three men went through the first Pledge Ceremony on August 28, 2011. The group was officially colonized on December 3, 2011 and the first Initiation Ceremony was conducted on February 2, 2012 for six members. The colony enters fall of 2012 with 10 Initiated members.

The Eta Rho Provisional Chapter was chartered on April 19, 2015, becoming the Eta Rho Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi. The ceremony took place at Cameron University’s McCasland Ballroom. The keynote speaker was Grand Councilor Sam Harris, Wayne State ‘12, Oakland ‘14. Staff member Ryan Kolter, Whitewater ‘12, assisted with the ceremony. Eta Rho’s President at the time was T.C. Ototivo, Cameron ‘12.

The Eta Rho Chapter was closed in January of 2017 for financial delinquency.
