HISTORY
Otterbein University was chartered in 1847 and was the first college in the United States to operate from its inception as a co-educational institution. An interest group and colony of Alpha Sigma Phi was organized at Otterbein University in 1981 and obtained housing at 64 East Main Street in Fall 1982. It could not establish the stability, size, or financial strength to charter and died out.

A second interest group would eventually be established. The interest group became a colony in ceremonies on November 20, 1999.  In September 2000, it ceased to have college recognition or support. The colony was admitted to the Otterbein University IFC on May 21, 2001. 

The chapter was chartered on November 16, 2001. There were 22 undergraduate charter members and an advisor, Greg Johnson, who became Epsilon Theta’s first Grand Chapter Advisor.
